Using an SSL certificate allows you to secure the connection between your shoppers and the server running your PrestaShop shop.  The following tutorial explains how to setup PrestaShop that it will use the SSL certificate.

Changing the PrestaShop 1.5 Settings for SSL

  1. Enable SSL in preferencesLogin to the PrestaShop 1.5 Administrator dashboard.
  2. Hover over the menu bar where it is labeled PREFERENCES.  Click on GENERAL when the drop-down menu appears.
  3. Click where it says "Please click here to use HTTPS protocol before enabling SSL".  Remember that your SSL  certificate should be active before turning on this option.
  4. Click on the green SAVE button in the top right hand corner.

That completes the steps for enabling SSL within the PrestaShop 1.5 dashboard.  If you require more information about obtaining an SSL Certificate, please go to How do I purchase and install an SSL Certificate?
