Transferring a Domain away from OpenSRS

ICANN domain transfer policies have changed as of 1 December 2016.

Please note that if you do not complete the transfer steps below, then your domain will remain under the management of Web Hosting Hub.

Transferring a domain away from Web Hosting Hub requires several steps. Web Hosting Hub is a reseller of domain registrations using a domain registrar named OpenSRS. Before you can move the domain to a different domain registrar you must first meet the requirements for the transfer. These requirements unlock the domain, obtain the authorization, and submit the request for the domain to be moved using the authorization code. Keep in mind that it is not required to transfer a domain if you want to use it on a different hosting service. Please see Domain Registration transfer versus Nameserver Change for more information. The steps below will take you through the process of transferring your domain to a different registrar.

Requirements To Transfer Domain Away from OpenSRS

• Domain must be in good standing (i.e. not expired, not in redemption, etc.)
• Newly purchased domains must wait 60 days before they can be transferred
• Notifications for the transfer use the Administrator Email set for the domain. Access to that email is therefore required.
• Domain privacy must be removed before it can be moved.

Steps to Transfer domain away from Web Hosting Hub

After you confirmed that you meet the above requirements, please follow these steps below to process your domain transfer:

1. Contact our live Customer Service to unlock your domain before it can be transferred.
2. We'll assist you if Domain Privacy is enabled or domain registrant information needs to be updated. Afterwards, an email will be sent to the new domain owner for verification. If no changes are needed, continue to step 4.
3. Click the link in the email to open a webpage showing the updated full name and email address. If the information is correct, click Verify Information.
   
4. If all necessary requirements are met, OpenSRS will email you the domain registration Authorization Code from support@webhostinghub.com. Provide your new registrar with the authorization code.
   

This completes the process of transferring a domain away from Web Hosting Hub. Please note that domain transfers may take 7-10 business days to complete.
