In the previous guide in our Getting started in Wordpress series, we showed you how to write a post. Besides making Posts, you can also create Pages in WordPress to add additional content to your website.
If you want to have a webpage that will always be available on your menu bar for your visitors to have easy access to, you can create a Page in WordPress. For example, if you have an online business you may create a Page to have a "About Us" or "Contact Us" section of your website. Page content is available to your visitors at all times and does not update with each post like your blog's home page.
To add a Page, log into your WordPress Dashboard and click on the Pages link on the left menu:
Click "Add New" on the sub menu that opens after clicking on Pages:
The new window that opens is very similar to the window to create a new blog post. Once you have created your page (remember to put in a title as well for your new page), click on Publish on the right hand side and the page:
Now on the menu bar of your WordPress website the page you just created will be added. You can add as many new Pages to your WordPress website as you need. While there is not a limit to the number of Pages that can be created, keep in mind that your menu bar may not appear as expected if you add more pages than the width of the menu bar allows. In the next tutorial we will show you how to configure your homepage in Wordpress.

While I am unsure as to exactly what you are referring to, it sounds like you're talking about a widget area. To manage widgets in WordPress, look to the left side of the screen and click on Appearance, then click on Widgets. Here, you will see any widgets that are enabled. To disable them, you may simple drag and drop them off of the area. You may need to expand the individual areas by clicking on the arrow to the right of them as well.

Hello Raina,
We are happy to help, but will need additional information. What are the pages doing? What Theme/Plugins are you using? Have you tried using the default Theme, or troubleshooting the plugins? Can you provide a link to the site, so we can replicate the problem. Are you getting any errors? If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. Thank you, -John-Paul |

I have tried to use my paid-for site for 2 years and am about to give up. Sign-in will never take my info. When I apply for a new password it never returns an email. I have called and emailed many times to no avail. |
