After logging into your WordPress Dashboard, you can make your first post to begin adding content to your website. A post is a message that you are adding to the body of your website. As you make more posts to your website, the most recent post will be at the top of the site and older posts will be bumped down the page. First, click on "Posts" on the left hand menu bar:
This will display a list of any posts currently on your site as well as a new sub-menu. When you install WordPress, there is one blog post already made, called "Hello World!". Click on "Add New" under "Posts" to add your own blog post:
This will bring up a page where you can make your new post, called the Editor. The Editor works similar to that in a word processor as you can use bold, underline, and other effects. Also don't forget to include a Title to your post. Once you are done, click on "Publish":
Your post has now been published and can be viewed on your website! As we continue our Getting started in Wordpress series, the next tutorial we will show you how to create a Wordpress page.
