To place ads on your website, normally you would need to edit the html on your website to insert the ad code.  With WordPress, while making these code modifications is more difficult, there are plugins available to help you place advertisements where you want to on your website. To return to the previous course click on Facebook and Twitter Plugins.

AdRotate - AdRotate allows you to place banner advertisements on your website.  As the name implies, if you use multiple ad companies you can insert different banners and the plugin will automatically rotate them for you.  This plugin is updated regularly and allows you to manage your ads through your WordPress Dashboard.

Adsense Optimizer - This plugin is specialized for Google Adsense, which is one of the more popular advertising methods with WordPress sites.  It allows you to post the ads on the pages/posts that you want to with automatic formatting.  It includes an ad widget as well to put Google Adsense ads on your side menu.

Advertising Manager - To automatically integrate all your ads in one program, Advertising Manager has a wide range of advertisers that can be managed.  It also comes with a widget to place ads on your side menu as well as directly into your template code.

Each one of the links above goes directly to the plugin's official page on the WordPress.org website so you can see screen shots of the galleries as well as other information.  To install one of the plugins, you can automatically add them to your WordPress site by searching for the plugin in your Dashboard.  Please read our article on installing a plugin if you need any additional information. The next course covers how to optimize your Wordpress site with a caching plugin:  Optimize your Wordpress Site with WP Super Cache
