A fairly common question that occurs with the creation of a WordPress site (If you're looking for WordPress Hosting, BoldGrid recommends us a top WordPress Website Hosting provider!) is how to configure the menu so the top-level items do not jump to any particular location.
Very often menus are created from pages which result in the menu item jumping to a page instead of staying on a page when selected. The following instructions will show you how to create a menu item that will not jump to a different location when clicked.
Click on Appearance, then click on Menus.
In order to create a top level menu item that doesn't jump to a page, create a menu item by clicking on Custom links.
Add text to the URL and link text fields. You can add a valid or invalid URL for the URL. This text will be removed below.
Click on Add to Menu.
Create Submenus underneath your top level menu item.
Go back into your top level menu and remove the URL.
Save menu.
