The previous guide covered adding flash content in Concrete5. In this tutorial, we will show you how to disable / change the background image in concrete5's dashboard. By default, Concrete5 displays a picture of the day from concrete5.org as a background image. These images display in the background of the Dashboard when you navigate the menus. You can disable this feature, or use your own images instead.

How to work with background images in the Concrete5 Dashboard:

  1. Login to your Concrete5 Dashboard.
  2. Roll your mouse over the Dashboard button on top, and select System & Settings. This will display the System & Settings menu.
  3. Under the Basics section, click Interface Preferences to bring up the Interface Settings menu.

    Option Description
Pull a picture of hte day from concrete5.org (Default) This is the default setting for Concrete5, if this setting is selected the background images will be taken from the picture of the day on concrete5.org
None This will remove the background images from the Concrete5 Dashboard.
Specify Custom Image This setting, if selected will allow you to choose or upload an image from the concrete5 file manager.

Once you have made your selections, click the blue Save button onthe bottom right. Congratulations, now you know how to select your background image in the Concrete5 Dashboard. Continue to the next guide in our working with images and videos in Concrete5 series, which will cover using a custom favicon in Concrete5.
