If you are receiving a 406 Not Acceptable error on your website, it is likely related to the mod_security setting on your account.
By default, mod_security is turned on for all hosting accounts. There are some programs and software that you can use on your account that will require that mod_security be turned off, otherwise the 406 error will appear. We can turn off mod_security for each domain by request. If you would like to have mod_security turned off to resolve a 406 Not Acceptable error, please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. If sending an email, please include for verification purposes your original cPanel password or the last four numbers of the credit card that we have on file.

Yesterday I did exactly what I'm trying todo today (edit css files through my Joomla 2.5.9), but without getting the 406 errors.
I don't want to disable mod_security, why was it working yesterday? |

Hi, I am trying to add an article in my Joomla Admin Panel. Suddenly I came up with this error. I have disabled mod_security on this Website: karate-sport-schule.ch but still I am getting this error. Please verify this case. I could no longer work inside my Joomla Admin. Thanks. |

If you have attempted to disable it in the Modsec Manager and are still receiving the error, I recommend contacting technical support as they will be able to make changes to your account that I am unable to make via this public message board.

Hello Hannah,
Sorry for the problems with logging in to WordPress. It is highly probable that your account is undergoing a brute force attack. You can try the options provided in our WordPress wp-login.php brute force attack article. Otherwise, you should contact our live technical support team for further assistance. Their contact number is at the bottom of this page. Kindest regards, Arnel C. |
