The previous guide in our working with themes in Concrete5 series covered changing a header image in Concrete5. In this tutorial we will show you how to create a sitewide Site Name in Concrete5. This is important since the header is sitewide and will be seen on every page on your website. Typically you will put something that generally represents your brand, or the services / products your website is offering.

Create a Site Name:

  1. Login to your Concrete5 Dashboard.
  2. Click the Edit button on the top left.
  3. Select the Add To Sitewide Site Name block to bring up the menu.
  4. Select Add Block from the menu.
    create site name1
  5. On the Add Block list select Content.

Type your new Concrete5 site name, there is a toolbar on top for modifying the format. If you click the drop-down box with the title Heading 1, it will allow you to change  the text size.
    create site name4

When you are finished creating your site name, click the blue Add+ button on the bottom right.
  6. Roll your mouse over Editing, and click Publish My Edits. You will now see your new Concrete5 sitewide site name on your website.

    Before:
    create site name2

    After:
    create site name5

Congratulations, you can create a sitewide sitename in Concrete5 now! Continue to the next tutorial which will cover how to install a Concrete5 addon.
