Earlier today, WordPress released a security update to version 4.2.4. We highly recommend that all customers update to this latest version (WordPress 4.2.4) immediately. This update is considered a critical security release for all previous versions of WordPress.
This security update corrects six issues, including three cross-site scripting vulnerabilities and a potential SQL injection that could be used to compromise a site, a fix for a potential timing side-channel attack, and prevents an attacker from locking a post from being edited.
